We saw about 100 of these critters running around on our trip, this guy was actually running on the ground at the outdoor restaurant we were at.  About a minute later we saw a few monkeys in the trees as well, unfortunately my camera skills were lacking at the time.

The two pics above were from a jail that stopped operating in 1976.  All of the cells were transformed into little shops, except for the one with the kids in front (Cell 106 - they left this one untouched from when the place closed).

The 6 pics above are from a Cachaca distillery (Carvalheira was the brand).  Cachaca is the main ingredient in Brazil's famous caipirinha drink.

The first two days of our trip we stayed in a nearly 500 year old town called Olinda.  We toured the town and took the kids on a few mini field trips which included an old Church, a closed down prison and a Cachaca distillery... a bit different than
Maddie's first field trip at school where they visited a farm.
