No news

No news to report, other than Maddie being back in her school time routine and Dylan approaching his 2nd birthday.  There were a couple of blog worthy moments I suppose -- one that comes to mind is my recent trip to the pizzeria.  Not only are the prices a bit high, but you can literally see inflation happening right before your eyes.  I went in to place my usual order when I noticed the price, per pizza, went up R$5 (roughly US$3)!  I guess price adjustments like this happen 1-2 times a year with the majority of goods here -- passed right on to the consumer.  Anyway, for a finance geek like myself, I find the economy down here quite interesting.

Singing

Here's Maddie singing in Portuguese with Dylan in the backgound trying to be seen.

Chopped

Who's the man?

Cathy took Little D for a mop chopping today -- we searched online for a hairstyle we both agreed on, printed it out and voila!  Done.  No more mop top!  As for the report on his behavior during the 30 minute haircut, Dylan was -- not -- an angel.

Party season has already started

Maddie and her best friend Zoey are in the same classroom again.

Dylan - contained.
It only took one day of class before Maddie received a birthday invitation to a party later in the week.  Cathy took the kids to this one, from what I hear the evening went very smooth -- and of course the kids loved it.

Back to school

It was a blustery winter morning at the bus stop on Maddie's first day back -- she started Pre-K2 yesterday.

Puzzled

Our 4Y2M1d old completed her first 100 piece puzzle today... took some time, but Maddie stayed focused and completed the task at hand -- it was the perfect activity to do while Dylan was taking his afternoon snooze.

Catavento Cultural

I think it's time to get Little D's hair cut.

Last weekend we ventured off to a museum that was about 30 minutes away, it's a good place to drop by with the kids and spend a couple hours -- they had a great time, particularly with the planes and trains that were outside the building before we headed in.

Potty news

Dylan has used the potty on back to back days now.  Prior to that, when it was time for him to go he would make a grand announcement to the entire house -- then he would walk into his bathroom, close the door and ask for privacy.  So we figured, let's sit him down in there, close the door and see what happens.
